Synopsis

The Anime Lad

College student Aoi can see spirits and has learned that feeding them is generally practical. A powerful innkeeper carries her to his supernatural inn and presents an old debt attached to a proposed marriage. Aoi declines the arrangement and offers labor instead, beginning a career in hospitality where cooking provides useful bargaining power.

Aoi inherits her grandfather's sight for spirits along with a debt to the master of a grand supernatural inn. She refuses his marriage demand and chooses to work off what is owed. Her cooking becomes both profession and bridge, introducing an unfamiliar world through its guests and customs.

Aoi arrives at a lavish inn for spirits, hears that an old family debt supposedly requires marriage, and says absolutely not. Then she bets on her own cooking!
