We Never Learn: BOKUBEN

Its tutoring setup pairs two celebrated prodigies with the subjects they struggle with most, tying romantic comedy to anxiety over choosing a future.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Nariyuki Yuiga works relentlessly for a school nomination that could cover university tuition. He receives it on one condition: tutor two classmates celebrated as geniuses. Fumino excels in literature but wants mathematics. Rizu dominates mathematics but wants the humanities. Both are remarkably poor at their chosen fields. Nariyuki's financial future now depends on teaching people who have heard every practical objection already.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Hardworking Nariyuki can secure a full university recommendation if he tutors the school's two prodigies. Each excels where the other struggles, and each wants to pursue her weakest subject. Study sessions become battles over methods and expectations. Their ambitions are sincere despite alarming test results. Nariyuki has personal stakes in every improvement. Romance grows inside a schedule already crowded with exams.

Gigguku

I love that the girls are not secretly perfect at everything. Fumino can read a room and a poem, then mathematics turns hostile. Rizu can crush equations while human nuance escapes the grid. Nariyuki has to teach without flattening what they actually want. The study sessions become romantic chaos, but the dreams underneath them feel real enough that every tiny academic breakthrough lands.

Father's Basement

Another diligent boy surrounded by talented girls is hardly a daring setup, and the accidents can feel factory installed. The tutoring condition supplies more than proximity, though. Nariyuki needs the scholarship, while Fumino and Rizu want futures adults consider impractical. Their frustration is specific and recognizable. The better comedy comes from failed teaching strategies rather than romantic coincidence.
