Dorohedoro follows reptile-headed amnesiac Caiman and his companion Nikaido as they hunt magic users in the district called the Hole.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Caiman cannot remember who he was before a magic user left him with a reptile head. With Nikaido beside him, he hunts possible culprits in the Hole. His method involves placing a suspect's head inside his mouth so the second face within can inspect them. Investigative standards vary by district.

Super Eyepatch Fox

A magic user transformed Caiman, leaving him with a reptile head and no memory of his former self. He and Nikaido hunt magic users through the Hole for an answer. Each interrogation requires Caiman to bite down, consult the second face inside his mouth, and ask the shaken suspect what it said.

Gigguku

Caiman is a lizard-headed amnesiac who investigates magic users by biting down on their heads. That sentence barely covers Dorohedoro's opening level of absurdity. Nikaido joins the hunt through the Hole, and every interrogation turns the identity question into something physical and grotesque. The show commits to its impossible setup at FULL force!

Father's Basement

The reptile-headed amnesia premise arrives at maximum volume, and the questioning is grotesque before viewers have much reason to care. Still, the mystery is usefully direct. A magic user altered Caiman, so he hunts possible culprits with Nikaido in the Hole. The second face inside his mouth gives that search a distinct visual identity.

The story revolves around Kaiman, who does not remember who he was before he was transfigured by a Magic user. This transformation left him with a reptile's head, and a desire to find out the truth about who he really is.

What defines it

A gonzo dark-fantasy action-comedy. Gory, bizarre, and utterly singular.
