Synopsis
Asta and Yuno grow up together in a church orphanage, both determined to become the Wizard King. Yuno is a natural prodigy. Asta cannot cast a single spell in a society where magic defines status. Black Clover starts with familiar shonen furniture and a protagonist whose voice can sand wood. It asks for patience. The appeal appears when Asta's lack of magic stops being a generic disadvantage and starts exposing the kingdom's class assumptions. His partnership with Yuno also avoids easy bitterness, giving the rivalry more backbone than their opposite talents suggest.
