Naofumi Iwatani opens a mysterious book and is summoned to a fantasy kingdom as one of four heroes tasked with saving the world. Each receives a legendary weapon. His is the shield, an awkward match for the usual heroic silhouette. The kingdom expects results anyway. Defensive equipment has entered a leadership position.

Super Eyepatch Fox

A fantasy kingdom summons four heroes and gives each a legendary weapon. Naofumi receives the shield while the others carry tools that advertise aggression more clearly. Saving the world now begins from defense, forcing the familiar chosen-hero setup to approach danger from a less glamorous angle.

Naofumi arrives expecting the standard chosen-hero package and gets a shield while everyone else holds a weapon built to swing. That contrast becomes the hook! Kinema Citrus puts defense in the center of the frame and turns a supposedly plain piece of equipment into a question every fantasy fight has to answer!

Father's Basement

The game-like exposition arrives with little grace. The better choice is the weapon assignment. Summoned as one of four heroes, Naofumi receives a legendary shield while the others carry more conventional weapons. Centering defense gives the familiar power fantasy a practical constraint before the adventure has time to become routine.
