The Anime Lad

A mysterious presence enters the world with no language and few practical instincts. Meaning arrives through sensation and contact with other people. Basic shelter and companionship therefore acquire unreasonable emotional weight. The series observes this education patiently, as though learning how to be a person were an ordinary administrative process. It is not.

An innocent being learning from fragile human lives sounds engineered for easy tears. The setup could become pure emotional blackmail. Instead, the premise pays attention to physical needs and the awkward work of understanding another person. That restraint gives the sentiment something solid to stand on. The series wants an emotional response, obviously. At least it earns one through observation rather than instructions.

In the beginning, an "orb" is cast unto Earth. "It" can do two things: change into the form of the thing that stimulates "it", and come back to life after death.

What defines it

The story begins with a nearly blank consciousness and lets each meeting add another piece of identity. Travel, survival, and supernatural danger matter, but the emotional center is Fushi learning language, attachment, and responsibility from people whose lives move much faster than his own.
