SHAMAN KING (2021)

The 2021 series pairs spirit-powered combat with Yoh Asakura's unusually relaxed approach to the Shaman Fight, a tournament held once every five hundred years.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Manta meets Yoh Asakura, a shaman who speaks with spirits and can channel their abilities. Yoh intends to enter the Shaman Fight, a competition held once every five hundred years. His goal carries considerable weight. His demeanor suggests someone asked him to pick up groceries on the way.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Middle-schooler Manta discovers Yoh can see spirits and fight alongside them. Yoh plans to enter the Shaman Fight, a rare tournament that decides who becomes Shaman King. Rivals bring their own ambitions. Yoh answers the pressure with calm confidence while the series drives directly into its supernatural contest.

Gigguku

Yoh Asakura talks to spirits, channels a samurai partner, and aims for the title decided by a once-in-five-centuries tournament. The scale is enormous, yet Yoh's relaxed attitude makes him instantly magnetic. The partnership at the center gives the supernatural competition a personal charge!

Father's Basement

The 2021 series can feel impatient about getting its tournament underway. What survives that speed is a strong central contrast. The Shaman Fight carries enormous importance, while Yoh approaches it with a calm that reads as philosophy rather than laziness. His spirit partnership gives the combat its identity.

On a starry night, middle-schooler Manta meets Yoh Asakura, a young shaman who has the ability to talk to spirits, and also has the ability to let them possess him to use their powers. Yoh has a heavy duty on his shoulders: he must become the Shaman King by winning the Shaman Fight, a tournament between shamans that happens only once every 500 years.
