A summoned teenager is rejected by the world's goddess and pushed to its frontier, where his encounters center nonhuman communities rather than the usual heroic court.

Synopsis

The Anime Lad

Makoto is summoned to another world under the impression that he will serve as a hero. The resident goddess dislikes his appearance and sends him toward the remote frontier instead. There, his unexpected magical strength attracts nonhuman residents and creates responsibilities absent from the original employment description.

Super Eyepatch Fox

A goddess summons Makoto, insults his face, and removes the hero position. Stranded at the world's edge, he discovers enormous magic and meets the nonhuman peoples ignored by human society. Rejection redirects the usual fantasy power climb. The frontier writes a very different job description.

Gigguku

Makoto gets the full other-world hero assignment before the goddess personally throws him off the intended plot! His response is to explore the frontier and meet beings the human center dismisses. The power scale is huge, but the real fun is watching the rejected candidate improvise his own place.

Father's Basement

Another absurdly powerful transported teenager is hardly fresh material at the outset. TSUKIMICHI finds a useful angle in institutional rejection. Makoto is denied the approved heroic lane, so the story shifts its attention toward remote lands and nonhuman groups that the goddess's preferred civilization treats as peripheral.
