A cheerful bride arriving to heal an isolated man risks reducing her to a cure for his pain. The premise has more weight when it keeps Tamahiko’s circumstances visible. His family rejected him because of his disability and sent him away. Yuzuki’s presence matters because it introduces human connection into a life deliberately stripped of it.
