The Case Study of Vanitas

This fantasy relocates vampire lore to a lavish steampunk Paris, where a reserved vampire and an infuriating human doctor investigate a supernatural illness tied to names.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Noé, a young vampire, travels to Paris searching for the legendary Book of Vanitas. He instead meets Vanitas, a human who carries the book and claims to treat vampires suffering from a strange curse. Their first encounter involves an airship and several breaches of decorum. The city is beautiful. The doctor is unbearable, so Noé keeps taking notes.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Travel through a mechanical nineteenth-century Paris with Noé, a vampire seeking a feared grimoire. Its owner is Vanitas, a human doctor who uses the book in his unusual practice. Their uneasy partnership frames supernatural cases through clashing methods. Bones supplies fluid action and expressive comedy without losing the lavish architecture around each investigation.

Gigguku

The instant Noé steps into that glittering alternate Paris, the show starts flexing! Airships and brass machinery frame vampire etiquette, while Vanitas arrives with the energy of a man banned from every respectable clinic. Noé's sincerity makes the perfect target for his chaos. Their expressions alone could power a season, while the curse premise gives all that romantic excess a genuinely intriguing case to chase.

Father's Basement

Vanitas performs every sentence as if the balcony seats paid extra, and the series indulges him with abundant sparkle. That can be exhausting. Noé's steadier curiosity provides the needed counterweight, while the idea of treating corrupted vampire names gives their work a clear shape. Beneath the posing, the first episode is a competent supernatural medical mystery with unusually handsome machinery.
