Kongming spent his first life navigating war in ancient China and wished for a peaceful next one. Reincarnation sends him to modern Shibuya, where musician Eiko is chasing a very different kind of success. She helps him understand the present. He offers the strategic mind that made his name in the past.

Leave ancient China. Wake in modern Shibuya. Meet Eiko, an amateur musician with ambitions larger than her current reach. She knows the city Kongming does not. He knows how to think several moves ahead. Ya Boy Kongming! turns that exchange into an odd-couple plan for a music career.

A famous strategist reincarnated into modern nightlife is a one-line gimmick with obvious expiration risk. Pairing him with Eiko helps. She is not scenery for his cleverness. She has the dream and the local knowledge, while he has an old way of seeing problems. The partnership gives the joke a workable engine.
