Synopsis

The Anime Lad

During the Bakumatsu, a feared swordsman helped bring Japan's turbulent old order to a close. Then he vanished. The story moves into the Meiji era, where imported technology and new laws are reshaping daily life. History, however, has not become a tidy administrative category.
