NieR:Automata Ver1.1a

A-1 Pictures adapts the game's android war through shifting viewpoints and graphic interface motifs, preserving its questions about purpose without requiring prior play.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Humanity lives on the Moon after machine forces occupy Earth. YoRHa android 2B descends to fight alongside scanner unit 9S, following mission orders through abandoned factories and overgrown cities. The machines are numerous, the command structure is remote, and several things on the ground appear to have missed the briefing about simple behavior.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Combat android 2B joins analyst 9S on an Earth controlled by machine lifeforms. Their missions move through industrial ruins where orders arrive from orbit and enemy behavior resists easy categories. The adaptation combines sword combat with interface graphics, changing viewpoints, and long quiet stretches that let the empty world press inward.

Gigguku

The first time 2B steps into those enormous ruins, the music does half the world-building by itself. NieR:Automata Ver1.1a has blades, flight units, and absurdly elegant combat androids, yet its strongest pull is the silence around them. 2B follows orders, 9S asks questions, and the machines keep making the word machine feel less explanatory.

Father's Basement

The adaptation occasionally carries over game structures with the labels still attached, and some CG integration is rough. Its atmosphere survives. 2B and 9S conduct missions on a machine-occupied Earth while serving humanity from afar. Empty architecture, repeated orders, and oddly behaving enemies create tension before the story asks for any knowledge of the game.
