Rintaro attends Chidori, a boys' school with a rough reputation, and helps at his family's patisserie. There he meets Kaoruko, a friendly customer who is comfortable around him despite his intimidating appearance. The difficulty is geographic. Her prestigious girls' school stands next door to his, and the students have inherited a durable dislike. Cake service was simpler.
