Synopsis
The Anime Lad

The Fourth Primogenitor is a legendary vampire associated with overwhelming power and calamity. Authorities respond by sending Yukina, an apprentice sword shaman, to Itogami City with an anti-vampire spirit spear. There she encounters Kojou Akatsuki, who complicates the assignment. The observer is young. The equipment is less reassuring than intended.

Then Kojou complicates what should have been a clean observation mission. That is excellent pressure. Every conversation sits beside a weapon designed to end the mystery by force.

Father's Basement

Sending an apprentice to observe and possibly eliminate a legendary vampire is institutional logic designed to create a teenage action series. The mismatch at least gives Yukina useful tension. She has a formidable spear and incomplete certainty. Kojou complicates the mystery enough to keep their encounter from becoming routine supernatural paperwork.
