Synopsis

Maomao, an apothecary raised around medicine, is taken to work as a servant in the imperial rear palace. She intends to remain anonymous until a pattern of illness attracts her attention. Palace etiquette suggests silence. Her professional curiosity suggests diagnosing everyone nearby. One of these forces is considerably more persistent than the other.
