the Garden of sinners Chapter 1: Thanatos. (Overlooking View)

This 2007 urban supernatural film begins in September 1998, when unexplained incidents draw attention to the soon-to-be-demolished Fujou Building.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

September 1998 brings an unsettling pattern to the city where Shiki lives. Each incident points back to the Fujou Building, a skyscraper already scheduled for demolition. The connection remains unclear. A condemned tower has nevertheless become the most reliable address in the case, which is not reassuring urban planning.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Late-1990s city. Several unexplained incidents. One shared location. The Fujou Building waits above the streets even as demolition approaches. Shiki lives nearby, and the mystery begins with a pattern nobody can yet explain. The film offers a place before it offers an answer, letting the tower carry the pressure.

Gigguku

A whole supernatural mystery gathers around one doomed skyscraper. That is such a clean image. The Fujou Building is already marked for demolition, yet it keeps pulling attention upward. Shiki's city feels ordinary enough to recognize and wrong enough to inspect. I love an opening that makes a single address feel dangerous!

Father's Basement

The opening withholds the connection among several disturbing incidents, which can make the mystery feel deliberately remote. At least it gives that uncertainty a concrete center. Every thread points toward the Fujou Building in September 1998. The tower is due to come down, but first the film asks viewers to look at it much more closely.
