The military now relies on firearms against witches, but Takeru Kusunagi cannot use them and continues carrying a sword. This places him in the 35th Test Platoon, whose members already struggle to cooperate. The arrangement becomes more efficient when Ouka Ohtori, an elite pistol user recently demoted, joins the same unit. Efficiency remains theoretical.
