Princess Angelise begins inside the protected life of the Misurugi Empire. That position collapses, and the state declares her less than human before forcing her into service under the name Ange. She must fight draconic invaders as a slave-soldier with access to a powerful weapon. Palace etiquette provides limited preparation for the reassignment.

Angelise loses her royal status and is sent into a military system that treats her as disposable. Renamed Ange, she must learn to fight draconic enemies with a formidable machine. The opening moves from imperial privilege to coerced combat, placing her pride and survival instinct inside an institution built to deny her humanity.
