Synopsis

The Anime Lad

After leaving prison, Yotarou seeks out Yakumo, a master of rakugo, the Japanese art of comic storytelling performed by one seated speaker. He asks to become an apprentice despite having little preparation. The extended opening follows his attempt to enter a tradition where voice, timing, and disciplined performance must create an entire scene.
