Gate sends a Japanese military unit through a portal from Ginza into a realm of knights, monsters, villages, and dragons.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

A mysterious gate opens in Ginza and releases monsters and medieval soldiers into Tokyo. Japan responds by sending a Self-Defense Forces unit through the portal. The group, led by soldier and committed hobbyist Youji, finds villages under threat from a dragon. Interworld contact has begun with unusually poor visitor management.

Super Eyepatch Fox

A portal in Ginza links contemporary Japan with a realm of knights, monsters, and dragons. After the attack on Tokyo, a Self-Defense Forces unit crosses into unfamiliar territory under soldier Youji. Modern vehicles meet a landscape built for fantasy warfare. The contrast supplies the premise before either world understands the other.

Gigguku

A gate dumps knights and monsters into Ginza, then a modern military unit heads back through it. Armored vehicles crossing into a dragon-threatened fantasy realm is already a giant flashing sign. Add Youji, an enthusiastic hobbyist stuck leading the mission, and every encounter carries the friction of two incompatible worlds meeting at full speed!

Father's Basement

The military framing is hardly subtle, and the difference between modern hardware and medieval arms limits uncertainty. Gate sells the comparison itself. A portal attack brings fantasy creatures into Tokyo, then a Japanese unit enters the realm beyond it under Youji. Villages, monsters, and a dragon give that expedition an immediate physical scale.
