Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress

Kabaneri stages survival horror across fortified stations and armored steam trains, pairing industrial machinery with fast undead whose hearts are shielded by iron.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Hinomoto's survivors live in fortified stations while undead Kabane roam beyond the walls. Travel and supplies depend on armored steam locomotives, which is a stable arrangement until one arrives under catastrophic conditions. Young engineer Ikoma has been developing a weapon aimed at the creatures' iron-protected hearts. He soon receives an unscheduled field test. Safety protocols are limited.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Industrial settlements hide behind walls from Kabane, infected creatures with iron guarding their hearts. Armored trains connect the stations, making every arrival a possible lifeline or breach. At Aragane Station, engineer Ikoma prepares a weapon designed around that lethal anatomy. When the defenses fail, machinery and nerve become the only things separating a crowded platform from disaster.

Gigguku

The first episode throws a massive armored train at a fortified station and somehow the pressure keeps climbing. Ikoma is an engineer who has studied the Kabane instead of accepting the walls as permanent safety, so every tool and mechanism matters once panic hits. WIT STUDIO makes steel feel heavy, steam feel violent, and desperate motion feel impossibly cool. It is industrial horror with the throttle jammed open!

Father's Basement

Yes, the premise visibly combines zombies, walled settlements, and high-speed action from familiar sources. The defense is execution. Kabane require a precise strike through armored hearts, stations rely on vulnerable rail links, and Ikoma approaches the threat as an engineering problem. The show understands how to stage bodies against gates and machinery against panic. Subtle it is not. Effective, irritatingly, it is.

As the world is in the middle of an industrial revolution, a monster appears that cannot be defeated unless its heart, which is protected by a layer of iron, is pierced. By infecting humans with its bite, the monster can create aggressive and undead creatures known as Kabane.
