Viewers seeking urgent conflict will find little in the advertised premise. Its appeal is the opposite. Makoto's witch training happens while she lives with relatives and attends school, allowing magic to sit beside everyday adjustment instead of replacing it with a hidden war. The small scale is deliberate.
