Masamune-kun's Revenge

A 2017 SILVER LINK. romantic comedy about Masamune transferring to the school of Aki, the girl who bullied him, with revenge in mind.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Aki bullied Masamune when he was an overweight child. He answers by spending years on self-improvement until he is handsome, popular, athletic, and academically successful. Then he transfers to Aki’s school, where she does not recognize him. His goal is to humiliate her in return. Emotional maturity was not part of the regimen.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Childhood bullying gives Masamune a long-term objective. He changes his appearance, grades, and athletic ability, then transfers to Aki’s school under a polished new image. She does not recognize him. Revenge now depends on confronting the person he remembers and discovering whether the plan feels as satisfying as imagined.

Gigguku

Masamune turns one childhood humiliation into YEARS of training. He arrives at Aki’s school handsome, popular, athletic, and completely unrecognizable to her. That is not healing. That is a revenge project wearing a perfect report card. Now he has to face the real girl instead of the version he rehearsed against in his head!

Father's Basement

Masamune’s response to childhood bullying is shallow, obsessive, and built around the same appearance standards that hurt him. The comedy has a chance because it does not need viewers to admire the plan. He transfers to Aki’s school expecting revenge to taste sweet. The more useful question is whether years of self-reinvention prepared him for an actual person.
