The Anime Lad

In 1930s America, gangsters, thieves, and other interested parties become entangled in several incidents told out of chronological order. A transcontinental train carries one major thread, while New York's criminal disputes supply others. Isaac and Miria, two enthusiastic would-be robbers, move through the confusion with unusual confidence. Dates are provided. Assistance is otherwise limited.

Scenes from different years clarify motives without a lecture, while the train and criminal factions provide strong anchors.
