Synopsis

The Anime Lad

Infinite Stratos units are advanced combat exoskeletons that only women can operate. Ichika Orimura becomes the sole known exception and is promptly sent to an elite pilot academy full of female classmates. Lessons involve aerial weapons training and the management of intense interpersonal attention. He is better prepared for one of these subjects. The series treats military hardware and adolescent misunderstanding as compatible parts of the curriculum.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Ichika accidentally proves he can activate an Infinite Stratos, armor supposedly usable only by women. The discovery places him inside Japan's specialist academy as its lone male student. Combat drills begin. Classmates test his ability and his patience. The powered suits provide fast aerial action, while the school setup converts every dorm rule and old acquaintance into another source of pressure.

Gigguku

The show takes a giant powered-suit premise and immediately parks it inside the most combustible school arrangement possible. Ichika is trying to learn aerial combat while old history and new rivalries surround him. Nobody has any chill. The armor battles have bright mechanical spectacle. Then the episode returns to class and finds a new way for one oblivious teenager to make the room explode.

Father's Basement

The worldbuilding asks you to accept that one boy overturns the central rule of military technology, then mostly uses that fact to arrange romantic collisions. It is not subtle, and Ichika's awareness frequently goes missing in action. Still, the academy gives the powered armor a practical setting. The series knows exactly how broad its school comedy is.
