Synopsis
Endou is a talented goalkeeper at a school whose soccer club barely functions. Six other members show little interest in training, leaving enthusiasm concentrated in one position. When forward Gouenji comes to town, Endou begins recruiting players in earnest. Before facing any grand opponent, he must first establish that a team exists.
Goalkeeper Endou loves soccer, but his school's club has only six other members and little commitment to practice. The arrival of mysterious forward Gouenji gives him a reason to recruit. Building a full lineup becomes the first challenge. The supernatural sports premise starts with a practical problem: one determined captain cannot play every position.
Endou has all the passion a soccer team could need and almost none of the actual team! His school's club barely practices, then a talented new forward arrives and recruitment finally has a spark. Watching one goalkeeper refuse to let the club disappear gives the supernatural sports setup a huge underdog pulse before the lineup is even complete.
Supernatural soccer can make the sport feel secondary to spectacle, and Endou's enthusiasm is hardly subtle. The neglected-club setup keeps the opening grounded. He has talent in goal but only six reluctant teammates, so recruitment matters before competition does. Gouenji's arrival offers possibility, not an instant solution, and Endou still has to persuade a team into existence.
