Samurai anime follows Japan’s warrior class, usually through sword fights, clan loyalties, and bushido, the idealized warrior code. The genre grew from period dramas and chanbara swordplay films, then Samurai Champloo remixed that inheritance while Gintama turned its familiar types into comedy.
