Berserk left a scar

Berserk's limited animation couldn't hide the force of its medieval drama, and Susumu Hirasawa's strange soundtrack became inseparable from its mood. Its abrupt stopping point sent viewers toward the manga and fueled years of frustration, while Vampire Princess Miyu served the season's quieter supernatural crowd.
