Steins;Gate went from a seemingly slow start to appointment viewing, while Gintama returned at full strength and Kaiji made gambling feel physically stressful again. Nichijou struggled commercially in Japan but became internet comedy royalty over time, and Anohana ensured nobody left the season emotionally intact.
