Openings did heavy lifting

Tokyo Ghoul became the season's breakout despite adaptation complaints, helped enormously by the opening song Unravel escaping into every corner of anime fandom. Barakamon and Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun were the warmer surprise hits, while Terror in Resonance started huge and left viewers more divided as it went.
