Wolf's Rain carried the season on atmosphere and Yoko Kanno's music, even as production trouble and recap episodes tested weekly viewers. Ashita no Nadja later gained recognition as an overlooked Toei drama, while The Big O II gave its noir robot story an unlikely second life.
