Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu

Bocchi enters middle school alone and treats making friends with every classmate as a daunting problem requiring elaborate plans.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Hitori Bocchi begins middle school without the one friend who usually helps her face other people. She believes she must befriend everyone in her new class before that friendship can resume. Bocchi responds with detailed plans for basic conversations. The plans repeatedly encounter classmates, an element they did not adequately model.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Bocchi enters a new middle school alone and faces the task of befriending her entire class. Social anxiety turns each introduction into an operation. She scripts greetings and prepares elaborate approaches, then real people respond unpredictably. Progress depends on returning after an awkward attempt rather than finding sudden confidence.

Gigguku

Bocchi prepares for an ordinary greeting with the intensity of a major operation, only for one unexpected reply to scatter the whole plan. Her anxiety makes every introduction feel physically enormous. What keeps the comedy warm is her stubborn willingness to try again, even when confidence disappears the moment another classmate answers!

Father's Basement

Some jokes push Bocchi's distress close to discomfort, especially when anxiety becomes visibly physical. The premise stays kind by taking her effort seriously. She plans poorly and panics quickly, yet the goal remains connection rather than humiliation. Friendship has to survive repeated awkward contact instead of arriving through one convenient breakthrough.

Hitori Bocchi suffers from extreme social anxiety, she’s not good at talking to people, takes pretty extreme actions, is surprisingly adept at avoiding people, her legs cramp when she overexerts herself, gets full of herself when alone, will vomit when exposed to extreme tension and often comes up with plans. Now she is entering middle school and her only friend, Yawara Kai, is attending a different school.
