Their partnership pits extravagant technical solutions against ordinary detective work while modern Tokyo absorbs the expense. Crime procedural logic survives, although the municipal budget may not.

This show gives a detective an unlimited bank balance and immediately asks how much chaos one man can expense! Daisuke treats money like another limb, while Haru keeps insisting that people are more than numbers on a receipt. That friction makes the flashy gadgets fun because somebody in the room is always demanding an ethical audit. Also, the suits are doing unreasonable amounts of character work.

Daisuke's bottomless-wallet routine could have been empty luxury advertising. Haru prevents that by reacting like an actual officer forced to partner with a walking procurement violation. The cases use their clashing methods for comedy while keeping a real question underneath: if money can remove every practical obstacle, what happens to judgment? It is slick and smarter when the partners irritate each other.
