The disguise grants closeness while postponing honest communication. Studio Colorido turns that tempting shortcut into a fantasy about identity and the danger of an easier face.
Gigguku
Miyo acts fearless at school, but a magical cat form lets her seek closeness without exposing the person underneath. The cat animation is wonderfully elastic, and Hinode's quiet affection makes the disguise feel safe enough to become dangerous. I love how the movie takes a wish that sounds adorable and immediately asks what it costs to be welcomed only when nobody knows it is you!
Father's Basement
The crush behavior begins at an exhausting volume, and Miyo's refusal to respect distance is not charming by default. The film gains focus when the cat form exposes what she is avoiding. Hinode accepts the animal without the complications attached to their school identities, giving Miyo borrowed intimacy instead of mutual understanding. The fantasy works best as a warning about emotional shortcuts.
