The Anime Lad
Ayumu joins Urushi's unofficial shogi club because he fell for her immediately. He also decides he cannot confess until he beats her, despite being a beginner. Urushi is far better at the game. Progress has therefore been assigned an avoidable strategic obstacle.
Super Eyepatch Fox
Ayumu loves Urushi, the skilled leader of a tiny shogi club. His rule is simple: beat her before confessing. Unfortunately, she controls the board while he remains a beginner. Each club meeting becomes another delay built from one very difficult promise.
Gigguku
Ayumu falls for Urushi, joins her unofficial shogi club, and then creates the most gloriously self-defeating romantic rule possible! He refuses to confess until he can beat her at the game she excels at. Every match now carries two stakes, even though only one player knows the full plan!
Father's Basement
The whole romance rests on a vow that could vanish if Ayumu behaved sensibly. Fortunately, sensible behavior would remove the premise. Urushi's shogi skill makes his chosen condition genuinely difficult, so every club meeting renews the same absurd stalemate without needing a new excuse.
