The world has spent a decade adjusting to the public existence of magic. Touta Konoe has instead spent his life in a quiet rural town, training under his magic-using teacher and dreaming beyond the local horizon. When ordinary village life can no longer contain him, the larger changed world becomes his problem.

Magic is public while Touta remains tucked away in a rural town. He trains under a formidable teacher and dreams of reaching the world beyond. A sudden disruption breaks the village routine, pushing his physical confidence toward an adventure shaped by magic's place in everyday life.

Touta lives far from the upheaval caused by magic becoming public, but he is absolutely not built for a small future. He trains with his teacher while dreaming far beyond his village. Once that quiet life breaks open, his explosive optimism finally has a world large enough to hit.

Touta begins as the familiar hardheaded boy whose answer to most obstacles is more training. The setting gives that energy somewhere interesting to go. Magic is no longer hidden, and his isolated upbringing sends him toward a changed society with strength but very little caution.
