After a corrupted boar attacks his village, Ashitaka carries a dangerous curse west in search of answers. He finds an ironworking settlement in conflict with the surrounding forest and its animal gods. San fights beside the wolves. Lady Eboshi defends the town. Ashitaka would prefer everyone stop escalating, an unpopular position with limited institutional support.

A cursed prince reaches a frontier where an iron town cuts into a sacred forest. San, a human raised by wolves, fights for the old gods. Lady Eboshi builds a refuge through industry. Ashitaka can see dignity on both sides, but seeing clearly does not make arrows slower or anger easier to contain.

Princess Mononoke gives you horse-sized wolves beside rifles cracking through green silence. At the center stands a hero desperate to look without hatred. Every force has texture! Iron Town is more than a scar on the land, and the forest is far stranger than a gentle sanctuary. The conflict feels physically huge because nobody can be reduced to a slogan.
Father's Basement
The plea for balance could have become respectable mush. Miyazaki refuses the easy version. Lady Eboshi's industry causes visible harm while sustaining people the wider society discards. San's fury is understandable and genuinely dangerous. Ashitaka's moderation therefore costs effort instead of granting instant wisdom, which keeps the ecological argument alive inside the adventure.
