ZENSHU

A celebrated young anime director stalls on a romance project because first love lies outside her experience.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Natsuko Hirose begins working as an animator after high school and rises rapidly to directing. Her first anime becomes a major success. The next project is a romantic comedy film about first love, which presents an inconvenient knowledge gap. Natsuko has never experienced it and cannot complete the storyboard, leaving an entire production waiting on one absent feeling.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Animator Natsuko quickly becomes a successful director after graduation. Her next assignment is a romantic comedy movie centered on first love. She has never been in love and cannot translate the subject into a storyboard. Professional momentum stops at the exact point where technical confidence can no longer supply personal understanding.

Gigguku

Natsuko races from graduation to directing a massive anime hit. Then someone asks her to storyboard first love. Nothing. COMPLETE creative stoppage. She has the career and the authority, but not the experience her next film requires. The premise finds a brutal little gap between knowing how to make images move and knowing what emotion belongs inside them.

Father's Basement

A young animator becoming a celebrated director almost immediately is extravagant wish fulfillment. The next assignment attacks the one weakness that reputation cannot hide. Natsuko must make a first-love movie without understanding first love well enough to storyboard it. The stalled production turns her missing experience into a concrete professional problem.

After graduating from high school, Natsuko Hirose starts her career as an animator. Her talent quickly flourishes, and she makes her debut as a director in no time.
