ef ~ A Tale of Memories

Two parallel romances begin through chance meetings, with one shaped by jealousy and another by a girl whose memory lasts only thirteen hours.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

Hiro spends Christmas Eve with Miyako after a stolen bicycle and purse chase bring them together. Their growing closeness unsettles Kei, his longtime friend. Elsewhere, Renji repeatedly meets Chihiro at an abandoned station. Chihiro wants to write a novel despite retaining only thirteen hours of memory. Romance has been assigned several avoidable administrative complications.

Super Eyepatch Fox

A chaotic Christmas Eve connects Hiro and Miyako while Kei’s longstanding feelings create immediate pressure. At an abandoned station, Renji meets Chihiro, a shy girl who dreams of writing a novel and lives with a thirteen-hour memory. The two stories run beside each other. One turns on competing affection. The other asks how connection can persist when memory cannot.

Gigguku

This pairs two romantic setups that hurt in completely different ways! Hiro and Miyako begin with Christmas Eve chaos while Kei already carries feelings for him. Renji and Chihiro meet quietly at a station, where her thirteen-hour memory makes their shared interest in writing feel precious from the start. The parallel stories let loud jealousy and fragile continuity sharpen each other.

Father's Basement

The ingredients announce serious melodrama early: a love triangle, a memory condition, and two relationships unfolding in parallel. That density could become suffocating. The distinction between the stories is promising, though. One begins through impulsive Christmas Eve contact, while the other grows from repeated station meetings and a writing ambition constrained by thirteen-hour memory.

On Christmas Eve, Hiro Hirono's bike is stolen by a girl chasing a thief who stole her purse. He gives chase and finds her unconscious and his bike ruined.

What defines it

A stylish SHAFT romance drama adapting a visual novel. Beautiful and bittersweet.
