Kaiba

A divided society treats memories as transferable data and bodies as commodities while an amnesiac traveler searches for context.

Synopsis
The Anime Lad

In Kaiba's world, memories can be stored, stolen, altered, and transferred between bodies. Wealth determines who can obtain desirable forms and whose identity becomes merchandise. A man wakes without memories, carrying only a pendant linked to an unknown woman. His escape into space begins with an inconvenient shortage of personal context.

Super Eyepatch Fox

Technology can preserve and transfer memory data, but it also permits theft and a market for replacement bodies. Kaiba wakes in a ruined room with no past and a pendant bearing a woman's image. Traveling through a sharply divided cosmos, he encounters a society built around portable identity and unequal access.

Gigguku

Kaiba imagines a society where memories can be bought, stolen, and moved between bodies. That idea changes everything about wealth and identity! An amnesiac traveler carrying a mysterious pendant gives the enormous premise a simple personal anchor as he enters a world where even the self can become merchandise.

Father's Basement

Portable memory is an abstract premise with enough rules to become cold exposition. The social structure gives it teeth. Kaiba follows an amnesiac traveler through a world where wealth controls access to bodies and memories can be illegally altered. Every transaction raises the practical question of who gets to control a person's identity.

It is now possible to store memory data, so that the death of your body is not actually "death". As memories are stored in databanks, they can be "transferred" to new bodies.
