The Anime Lad
During summer vacation, Shizuku wonders where her own talents might lie. Then she notices an ordinary-looking cat riding the train alone and follows it. The route leads her to Seiji, a boy determined to pursue his dreams, and to a cat figurine called the Baron. The summer has acquired an agenda.

Shizuku wants to discover what she can do. A cat rides the train by itself and gives her curiosity somewhere literal to follow. The trail brings her to Seiji, whose determination makes dreams look less abstract. It also introduces the Baron, a cat figurine that feeds her imagination.
Gigguku
Shizuku sees a cat commuting alone and does the only reasonable thing. She follows it. That small choice opens a summer full of imagination and brings her to Seiji, who is serious about his own dream. I love how curiosity turns into a challenge. She wants to know what talent means when it belongs to her!
Father's Basement
A mysterious cat leading a schoolgirl toward inspiration is aggressively earnest material. The film's useful anchor is Shizuku's uncertainty about her own talents. Seiji knows what he wants to pursue, while she is still looking. Following the train-riding cat gives that search a playful route without answering the harder question for her.
