Synopsis

The Anime Lad

After Haru saves a cat, she learns he is a prince from a feline kingdom. The encounter draws her into a world of cats, where Baron and Muta become part of an urgent escape problem. Royal gratitude becomes much more complicated than she expected.

Super Eyepatch Fox

A schoolgirl saves a cat prince and is drawn into his kingdom. Haru seeks help from Baron and Muta as feline customs close around her. Studio Ghibli keeps the fantasy compact and playful while one impulsive rescue creates increasingly strange obligations.

Gigguku

Haru performs one spontaneous rescue and suddenly a whole cat kingdom has plans involving her. The movie MOVES. Baron and Muta enter the scramble as feline customs turn a kind act into an urgent escape problem. It is bright, compact fantasy driven by escalating consequences and storybook cat logic!

Father's Basement

Haru begins so passive that the cat kingdom can direct the situation around her with little resistance. Studio Ghibli keeps the adventure light, lets feline customs supply the comedy, and gives Baron and Muta sharply different ways of confronting the same bizarre crisis.

The Cat Returns is something of a loose spin-off of "Whisper of the Heart" as it features two characters from that film: Muta (the cat from "Whisper") and the Baron (the cat statue from "Whisper"). There is no other connection between the two movies and this is not a sequel.
