Sawako Kuronuma is kind and diligent, yet feared by classmates who think she resembles a horror character. She would prefer a normal conversation. When outgoing Kazehaya speaks to her without flinching, the social order around her begins to loosen. The series treats saying hello as a high-risk maneuver and is often correct about the stakes.
