Ernesti carries his mecha obsession into a world where giant humanoid weapons are REAL. That is outrageous luck, and he recognizes it immediately. Silhouette Knights are no longer models or stories. They are standing in front of him, large enough to climb into. Of course he wants to pilot one. Any other response would waste the premise.

Reincarnating a devoted fan into a world built around his favorite thing is direct wish fulfillment. The useful distinction is how specific that desire is. Ernesti is not vaguely chasing power or prestige. He has seen Silhouette Knights and wants to pilot one. The clear objective keeps the fantasy from becoming a shapeless collection of advantages.
