Synopsis

The Anime Lad

Narumi starts a new office job determined to hide her otaku interests. She immediately meets childhood friend Hirotaka, who already knows everything and mentions it at work. After drinks, he proposes that dating a fellow otaku might be practical. Narumi agrees. Wotakoi therefore begins where many romances would schedule a finale, then examines whether shared hobbies improve compatibility or merely create more specialized disagreements.

Narumi wants her new coworkers to see a normal employee, not the devoted fan behind the professional face. Childhood friend Hirotaka recognizes her and ruins the secrecy plan without effort. Since he is a gamer with his own otaku interests, the two decide to try dating. The animation can look content to meet minimum requirements and leave on time. Luckily, the premise has adult texture. Narumi's attempt to hide her fandom at a new office collapses when childhood friend Hirotaka recognizes her. They decide to date with the embarrassing information already disclosed. The first episode trades grand romantic suspense for a practical proposal and workplace boundaries. Shared hobbies still do not automatically create communication skills.
