Henshin means transformation, usually a ritualized change that gives a hero their powered form, costume, or altered body. The tradition runs through tokusatsu and magical-girl anime, from Sailor Moon’s sparkling sequences to Madoka Magica’s contracts and Chainsaw Man’s roaring body horror.
