Kaiji turned gambling rules, narrator screams, and extreme close-ups into unbearable weekly tension. Clannad began Kyoto Animation’s biggest emotional investment, while Mobile Suit Gundam 00 supplied the political arguments and Genshiken 2 kept speaking directly to convention-going anime fans.
